Mary Tilch Obituary
Born on July 28, 1942 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Edwin A. Blandford and Dorothy B. Blandford. Fondly known as "Janie", Mrs. Tilch was a home maker and mom who ran her own Day Care Service at her residence for many years. Janie loved baking, cooking, cake decorating, traveling with "The Girls" on various occasions. She was of the Catholic faith and attended St. Mary's Catholic Church of Piscataway in Clinton.
In addition to her parents, Janie was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Bernard "Turk" Tilch; brother William Brock.
Janie is survived by her loving children Debra Watson (Glenn), Mary Carol Gillis, Bernard Allen Tilch (Patricia); grandchildren Gregory Gillis (Ashley), Kristen Graves (Eric), Chad Gillis (Nikol), Natalie Chamberlain (Ryan), Paige Spagiare (Ben), Zachary Tilch, twins Tyson and Madeleine Tilch; thirteen great grandchildren; siblings Diane Padgett (Tom Taylor), Elaine Chapman (Chuck), Edwin Blandford (Leslie), Joseph Blandford (Beth), and David Blandford (Susan); sisters-in-law Cheryl Brock and Nancy Moore.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024 from 10AM until time of Mass at 11AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church of Piscataway, 13401 Piscataway Road, Clinton, Maryland 20735.
Interment to follow in the Church Cemetery.
A Celebration of Life to follow at the Waldorf Jaycee Community Center, 3090 Crain Highway, Waldorf, Maryland 20601.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary's Catholic Church of Piscataway, 13405 Piscataway Road, Clinton, MD 20735-4564, or online at www.saintmaryspiscataway.net
