Mary Tokos Obituary
SARATOGA SPRINGS - Mary S. (Pangburn) Tokos, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 11, 2024, after a courageous battle with Dementia and Parkinson's. She has been reunited with Stephen, her soulmate of 53 years.
Her children and her grandchildren were her everything. Mary enjoyed playing board games with her grandson and coloring with her granddaughter. You could catch her on a Saturday night either at the harness track or playing slots. She was an avid card player and bingo player who loved teaching others how to play. Mary loved crocheting for her loved ones and sewing.
Mary owned the Drive In Movie Store and Bonfare in Ballston Spa where she was known by all the locals. She worked as a secretary for many years at the General Electric Co and Saratoga County. Mary was an avid Jets fan and enjoyed going to watch them play. Her love for God was shown regularly through her faith as a Catholic. She spent many years teaching religion alongside her daughter, singing in the choir, and being a Eucharistic minister. She was a member of Albany Magnificent and very active at St. Peter's Church and Immaculate Conception. Her love for her children shined through coaching their sports and heading up scouts and PTA. Sundays included cooking pasta for her family and JETS! Mary loved nothing more than being with her family making memories.
Mary is survived by her children, John Tokos, and Tina Tokos-Orologio (Christian); grandchildren, Xavier and Grace; siblings, Maureen Adamek, Kenneth Pangburn (Doris) and George Pangburn (Jeanette); brother-in-law, Thomas Tokos (Susan); and several nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her parents, Kenneth and Eileen Pangburn; husband, Stephen Tokos; sister, Sandra Haas; and brothers-in-law, Howard Haas and David Adamek.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Monday, July 15, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 16, at The Church of St. Peter, Broadway, Saratoga Springs. Burial will follow in St Peter's Cemetery, Saratoga Springs.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Mary may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or City Mission of Schenectady. Online remembrances may be made at www.armerfuneralhome.com

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always. I will always remember her laugh and all our wonderful outings together. She was a good friend and will be missed.

My sincere condolences and thoughts and prayers go out to Mary's family, especially Tina and John. I met Mary when I worked at the Drive-In Movie Store and then also I would see her when I started working for the county. She was a very nice woman and loved her family. She was always kind to others. She will be greatly missed.
