Mrs. Mary Ruth Treat, age 78, of Springdale, passed away Tuesday morning, March 11, 2025, at The Maples. She was born January 28, 1947, in Searcy County, a daughter of the late Dio and Ora Moore Stewart. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, James Mason Treat. 2 brothers, LD Stewart and Frank Stewart. 1 sister Omalea Daughtrey and her parents.
Mary was the fifth of 5 children to Dio and Ora and leaves her sister Iona Barham (Bobby) as her last surviving sibling.
James and Mary raised two children in Springdale and is survived by; one son, Gregory Dean Treat of the home; one daughter, Tambra Renae Knipe (Johnny); three grandchildren, Carley Nicole Badillo (Alvaro), Madison Knipe Forthman and Jordan Bailey Conway (Nick). 3 great grandchildren: Sophie Elaine Badillo, Lillian Mae Forthman and Christopher Johnny Conway and 1 additional great grandson on the way. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She worked over 35 years in retail including K-Mart and Walgreens. She enjoyed her grandchildren, traveling and fellowship at church. Mary was a fantastic cook and loved to provide meals for her family and others. Her homemade rolls and deserts will be missed
Funeral service will be held at 11AM on Friday, March 14, 2025, at the Backstrom Pyeatte Funeral Home 2230 N Thompson St, Springdale AR 72764.
Friends may visit with the family from 10AM until time of service.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, AR 72762.
