Mary Ulle Obituary

Visit the Hummel Funeral Home & Crematories - Fairlawn website to view the full obituary.

Mary Ann Ulle, age 87, passed away peacefully after a courageous four-year battle with pancreatic cancer. Her strength, resilience, and unwavering faith carried her through her illness and inspired all who knew her.

Mary Ann was the beloved wife of Albin Ulle, with whom she shared 64 devoted years of marriage. Together, they built a loving home centered on faith, family, and generosity.

She was a cherished mother to six children: LuAnne (Edward) Toth, Mia Ulle, Lisa (Daniel) Smolarek, Melissa (Jason) Frederick, Albin (Melanie) Ulle, and Mike Ulle. She was a proud and loving grandmother to thirteen grandchildren: Daniel (Holly), Vincent (Marissa), John, Sara, Jenna, Joe, Jordan (Kayla), Tyler (Harley), Ryan, Lauren, Lindsey (Connor), Clementine, and Misha. Mary Ann was also blessed to welcome four great-grandchildren-Kinsley, Carson, Charlotte, and Lily-whose births brought her immense joy.

She is also survived by her siblings Marlene (Carmen) Arcadi and Margaret (late Tom) Koch, as well as her sisters-in-law Lou Keim and Mary Ulle, along with many nieces, nephews, and close friends who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Mary Rego, and her brother Michael Rego (late Mary Jean).

Mary Ann had a gift for making a house a home. She was able to lovingly manage the chaos of 6 kids while selflessly tending to the needs (and meals) of an 8 person home. She was known for her kindness, selflessness and positive attitude, always willing to help without recognition.

She found joy in life's simple pleasures such as watering her flowers, fixing a puzzle, a tennis match with friends, a round of golf with Al (including a hole-in-one at Thornblade Country Club) or enjoying the many family get togethers centered around laughter and love. Her strong Catholic faith was a guiding force throughout her life. She was a member of Christ Child, volunteered with Meals on Wheels alongside her dear friend Christine, and contributed her time to the St. Hilary Christmas Giving Tree. She looked forward to Tuesday morning mass followed by coffee and donuts with Joan and Lou. She formed many lasting friendships over the years and treasured both old and new connections.

Mary Ann's family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Balance of Life, whose compassionate care was the main reason the family believes she was able to enjoy a good quality of life in her final years, helping her to remain positive and strong throughout her illness.

Mary Ann will be remembered for her deep love of family, her quiet strength, her generous spirit, and her steadfast faith. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to live on in all who knew her. As she would say: "Life is Good".

The family will receive guests this Tuesday, March 31, 2026 from 4-7pm at the Hummel Funeral Home in Fairlawn located at 2800 W. Market St. Fairlawn, OH 44333. A Mass of Christian burial will follow the next day Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at 11am at St. Hilary Parish located at 2750 W. Market St. Fairlawn, OH 44333.
