Mary Ellen Vitek

Mary Ellen Vitek nee Cagney, age 78 of Westchester, has moved to what she hopes will be a better place. After 15+ years, her beloved husband, Louis W. Vitek, must have run out of money because he has been paying God to keep her on Earth so that he could have a good rest. Her parents, Ed and Laurette Cagney, her brother Ed III, her aunt Anna Marie Cagney, and her grandniece Caithlin Jacobs, have all been waiting to hear the family gossip – they will be thrilled to see her. She leaves her loving son, Michael L. Vitek, and his caring fiancé, Irene White, M.D., to enjoy life free of her loving direction. Her sisters, Annie Cooney and Rettsey (Greg) Hull, her many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and friends will be thrilled not to hear "I told you so!" or "Do it my way!" Family and friends to gather Friday, December 20th for 9AM visitation until time of Funeral Mass, 10AM at Divine Infant Church, 1601 Newcastle, Westchester, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery-Hillside. In lieu of flowers, Mary Ellen only left two strong instructions: 1) Sing at Mass with Gusto and 2) be grateful and kind and your life will be filled with happiness.
