Mary Jane Walla passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on February 25, 2024, at the age of 77. She was a light to all who knew her and a treasure to her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Tracy Walla Ganzer of Sherman and Kelly Walla of Austin, and her grandson, Brody Ganzer.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Walla, her parents, Glennon and Helen Harris, her sisters, Marie Harris and Juanita Miles, and her brother, John Harris.
She was born December 1, 1946, in St. Louis, Mo. She met and married Johnny, the love of her life, in San Diego, Calif., where he served in the U.S. Navy. They later moved to Durant, Okla., where they raised their girls, and they retired in Sherman.
Janie, as her loved ones knew her, worked as a restaurant manager for many years. She also loved music of all kinds and eras, scary movies, the holidays, and going to her grandson's baseball, basketball, and football games. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and her beloved dogs.
As they grieve the loss of their beloved Janie, her family takes comfort knowing that she's at rest in the company of her God and her family who have crossed over before her.
