Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Willis Creek AME Zion Church. Burial: Washington Family Cemetery, Tar Heel, NC.
She leaves to cherish her memories with her husband, Robert L. Grant, one daughter Lorraine "Rachel" Grant-Morris, one granddaughter who she raised Samaria "Shae" Grant-Ballard, her special grandson-in-law Jamonte Ballard, who was there for her every need, three grandsons Robert "RJ" Grant, Elijah Morris, and Jamius Morris who she called "sunshine", one great-grandchild known as her "baby girl" Mariah Grant-Ballard, one brother Elmo Washington, one aunt Irene Spearman, one sister-in-law Maggie Grant whom she called her "sis", one goddaughter Cassandra Chittams, one special nephew Eric Pone (Angie), two very special friends and prayer partners Mary Sinclair and Percresa Mitchell, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 29th from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

Rachel, may the same Hands that Touched, Protected, Guided, and Kept, Your Mom; Now Covent You!! So Sorry to hear of the Separation that You and Your Family are experiencing, but; I KNOW that The Need; was GREATER IN HEAVEN; than the want, to stay on Earth!!!! The "MASTER JEWELER", had a Piece missing from Formation, and sent Special Instructions; to REPORT NOW!! MOMS was Obedient, and Surrendered Her Most CHERISHED POSSESSIONS; to take Her Rightful Place in Glory!!! One Day, She will Deliver the Importance of the timing; to All of You; and Embrace You ALL, just as She did for a multitude of Years! Until then, Be at PEACE; and know that She is Smiling in the Presence of The "LORD"!!!!
