Mary June Wilhelm

Mary June Wilhelm (nee Summers), 93, of Vermilion, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Lorain Estates after a lengthy illness.

She was born on March 18, 1932, in Kingwood, West Virginia, and had made Vermilion her home for the past 74 years after moving from her beloved home state.

June's life was a reflection of her strong Christian faith. She attended both the Christian Missionary Alliance and First Baptist Church in Vermilion, where she found joy in worship, fellowship, and service. She lived her faith daily-leading her family by example, offering words of encouragement, and always finding ways to show God’s love through kindness and prayer.

Known as the spiritual heart of her family, Mary’s home was filled with laughter, love, and the comforting aroma of her world famous homemade jellies-especially her strawberry and grape. She enjoyed playing cards and board games, but her greatest joy came from time spent with her loved ones, cherishing every gathering as a blessing.

She is survived by her son, Joseph F. (Sarah) Wilhelm of Kennesaw, GA; grandsons, Myles Majoy, Brian (Elizabeth) Wilhelm, and Sean (Christina) Wilhelm; and great-grandchildren, Saylor, Haven and Mila all of whom she prayed for and loved deeply.

June was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Wilhelm, in 2000; her daughter, Brenda Wilhelm, in 2006; her brothers, Ben and Everett Summers; and her sister, Opal Wilhelm.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
