We are saddened to announce the passing of Mary Jane Wutherich of Kansas City, Missouri. Mary Jane is survived by her #1 son Zach (April) (inside joke), & her adopted son Mikey (Tuyen), (inside joke, he's not adopted) her sister Vivian Iddings, her favorite grandson Jacob, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Carl Stevens, mother Mary Stevens, sister Virginia Lagud, and brother Bob Stevens.
To honor Mary Jane's memory, there will be a celebration of life on Dec 28th, 2023 from 6:00 -8:00 pm at 75th Street Events, 214 W. 75th Street, Kansas City, Missouri in Waldo. We invite anyone who knew Mary Jane to attend and remember her wonderful life.
Mary Jane was a free spirit who loved to live spontaneously and without fear. She enjoyed following the road less traveled to experience all the world had to offer. Whether it was moving to Florida when she was 20 without telling a soul, moving to Colorado to live in the mountains, or the time she sold her house to buy a van to live on the beach in Key West. She was a free spirit, always searching for the next destination.
Mary Jane had a warm heart and never met a stranger. She was a gypsy soul that filled her house with love, music, and the scent of sandalwood and patchouli.
She not only brought out life in others, but even the plants and flowers were drawn to her. She had a green thumb, so her home was always filled with beauty that she grew with her nurturing ways, attention, and special touch. She was thoughtful and never missed anyone's birthday. Her cards of well wishes were always on time, and no matter at what sacrifice she had to make, she always had a gift for everyone on each holiday. No matter the hardship for her, she made sure those she loved knew it, without a doubt.
"You belong among the wildflowers
You belong in a boat out at sea
You belong with your love on your arm
You belong somewhere you feel free"
