Mary Evelyn Zambo passed away on February 9, 2025, in Pottsville surrounded by family and friends.
Born on July 8, 1939, in Pottsville to the late Leonard and Mary (Sninski) Yenilaitus. She was a 1957 graduate of Nativity BVM High School. As a young adult, she had been a radio announcer for a local station. After that, she had taken a job with Miss Pennsylvania and last worked for Morris Wapner and Burger King.
On 2-6-1966, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Minersville, she married the love of her life, Ernest, and they were married for 54 years before he passed in 2019.
Mary loved spending time with her family and friends, going on her trips to Avalon, Washington, and New York or just playing cards. Mary will be remembered for her generosity and putting others before herself.
Preceded in death by husband Ernie, brothers Lenoard and Gary Yenilaitus.
Surviving are children, Tina, Frank, Denise and Monica, wife of Joseph, a sister Carol, her best friend, Betty Ann Kline, many nieces, and nephews, and her cat Mavi.
She was a former member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and is a current member of St. John the Baptist Church.
The family would like to thank Dr. Tavaria and staff for going above and beyond, with the care given to both Mary and Ernie.
Services and interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family
