(MaryAnn Elaine Malakowsky)

Born July 30th 1961, Transitioned December 2nd 2025

MaryAnn grew up in the area between Chanhassen and Chaska Minnesota. She is the oldest of 4, 2 Brothers and 1 Sister.

Growing up her parents were building their own house and that was a main family focus for a significant time. She really enjoyed spending time at her Grandparents farm out in the country and had many stories of the wonderful times and things she learned from them.

MaryAnn attended the University of Minnesota for 4 years and was also a serious runner, competing in multiple marathons and ultra marathons. She worked in the financial industry and worked her way up to NASDAQ trader, earning her a place on the trading floor.

MaryAnn and Brink met in 1999 and were married in 2000 (married 25 years!). In their life together they have had many cats and dogs over the years and some highlights were: being present for Zuhmm's birth and getting to know Ocho before she was 2 weeks old.

MaryAnn changed careers to start her own business(es) cleaning houses and doing healing work for both people and animals, the latter bringing her to many classes, seminars and workshops. She created a great business making custom made dog collars out of healing stones, she developed the product and selects stones for each dog's needs and benefit. Through that business she started a network of people and developed her love of animal wellbeing into all aspects of herself.

That is why Woodys was such a great fit for her, all of that background with healing, feeding self made food and improving the wellbeing of our dog friends. At Woodys she added to her knowledge of nutrition, and being involved with products tailored to that fed right into her passions.

Woodys also created an opportunity to expand the network of like minded people she was able to connect with, and so many became friends, many at a deep level. We are presented with an opportunity to honor that network and carry it forward, whatever the form.

MaryAnn was never hesitant about telling someone what they meant to her. There are so many lessons we can all benefit from in how she lived her life.

As heartbreaking as this moment is, it is amazing the support felt from all directions, notably for me, the friends she made through Woodys, many that I had not met before september.

A celebration of life will be held:
