McNamara, MaryAnn (nee Urbancic), age 77, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2021.
MaryAnn was born on March 23, 1944 to the late Frank and Emma Urbancic. Devoted wife and caregiver of the late John Patrick; loving and patient mother of Kelly Sted (Arthur) and James; beloved grandmother of Shae, Raymond, Jordyn, Maya, Derek and Scott; loving sister of Frank (deceased), Michael (Christine) and Carri Sambrano; cherished sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend to many. MaryAnn was a dedicated kindergarten teacher, beginning her career at St. Boniface, moving to St. Charles Borromeo and retiring from St. Francis de Sales. She was committed to Catholic education as well as her Catholic faith, and never wavered on either front. She was also a dedicated volunteer at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. It was, other than teaching young minds, her greatest joy! She often saw former students and THEIR children there and took great pleasure in those encounters. Her grandchildren knew the zoo by heart, and could walk it blindfolded, so they've said.
She also enjoyed traveling with her wonderful group of friends: to other zoos, other states and every now and then a casino. She took a dream trip of a lifetime to Slovenia to honor her proud Slovenian roots.
