Maryellen Ward Obituary
Maryellen was born in Utica, NY on September 21, 1941, a daughter of Julian and Katherine Hanagan Macdonald. She was raised in the Finger Lakes region of New York State, where she started her primary education. Moving to Utica, NY, she became a graduate of Utica Catholic Academy, St. Elizabeth School of Nursing and furthering her education at Upstate Medical in Syracuse, NY, becoming a Registered Nurse Practitioner.
On January 9, 1971, Maryellen married Ronald Ward in St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, West Winfield, NY. They resided in Unadilla Forks for many years and in their later years moved to New Hartford, NY. Her beloved husband, Ronnie, passed away November 24, 2022, a loss she never got over.
She will be profoundly missed by her family and remembered as a loving and caring woman who was always there to help the family.
Maryellen is survived by her loving sister, Jean Harlow; most cherished nephew, Timothy Wandle and his wife Cindi and family; nephew, Kevin Macdonald; nieces, Frances Parent (William), Tara Mattson (Todd), Deborah Ming, and their families; grand-nieces, Samantha Wandle-Moxley (John), Candice Wandle, and Lindsey Ming; cousin, Kevin Eddy and family; and a friend of many years, Mary Sainsbury (Gary).
She was predeceased by her parents; husband Ronald; and three brothers, James, John and Robert Macdonald.
The family very much appreciates the warm, loving, compassionate care given to Maryellen at the Siegenthaler Center. The staff are all very special people.
Arrangements are in care of Dimbleby Funeral Homes, Inc., Whitesboro. Services and burial will be at Unadilla Forks Cemetery, Unadilla Forks, NY, at the convenience of the family.
