MaryJane (Perkins) Rup (84) of 27 Killoran Drive Essex Junction Vt., beloved wife and mother passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family August 6, 2024 after a long illness.
MaryJane was born on September 6, 1939 in Waterbury Center VT. The daughter of the late Ernest C. Perkins and Harriet T. (O'Connor) Perkins. She was a graduate of Waterbury High School (1957) and of Northampton Commercial College, Northampton Massachusetts. After college she worked for Mass Mutual before marrying the love of her life Ronald J Rup on November 12, 1960. MaryJane was an avid skier growing up on the slopes of Stowe and she had a love of hockey always attending Norwich University Hockey games with her husband. She worked at IBM in Essex Junction VT for 20 years before retiring in 1999 to care and spoil her grand children while their parents worked. MaryJane was predeceased by her son Todd E Rup in 2000. Besides her loving husband Ronald J Rup of Essex Junction VT. She leaves her son Ronald J Rup Jr., her daughter Robin (Rup) Butman and husband William, son Sean Rup and wife Mary (Truax), Grand Children, Travis Rup and his wife Erin of South Dakota, Anastasia (Stasha) Rup, Bridget Venezia, Skylar Rup and great granddaughter Nora Rup. Also, dear special friends Clay and Priscilla Rich and Howard and Ann Osborne. The family would also like to thank her Hospice team Sandra, Julie and Bree who provided the upmost care and support to MaryJane and the family the past couple of months.
It was MaryJane's wishes that there would be no formal service. Celebration of life will be scheduled at a future time.
In Lieu of flowers it is requested donations be made to the UVM Home Health and Hospice.

My family and I grew up with Mary Jane in Waterbury Center. Our families were close friends so we saw a lot of Mary Jane. Our sympathies go out to her family.
