Marylou Locke

Marylou Locke, a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home in Hilmar, California, on Thursday, December 11, 2025. She was 95 years old. Marylou will always be remembered for her lifelong dedication and deep love for her family, and for the unwavering support she provided to her husband and children throughout her life.

Born in San Francisco on August 22, 1930, Marylou was the beloved daughter of Bill and Cleo Katsounakis. She was a graduate of Mission High School, where she met the love of her life, Thomas Francis Locke. She and Tom were married in 1952 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in San Francisco and shared 64 years of marriage until his passing in 2016.

Marylou was a dedicated partner to Tom. After settling in Hilmar, she worked alongside her husband, operating Locke Distributing, a deli specialist which serviced local grocers throughout the area. She also dedicated 26 years of service to the Hilmar School District. She was the steadfast center of the family and worked tirelessly in her home and community.

Marylou is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Francis Locke, who passed away in 2016, and her parents Bill and Cleo Katsounakis.

She leaves behind a loving family, including her sons and daughters-in-law: Tom and Gay Locke, and Kevin and Laurette Locke. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Stephanie & Aaron Hackler, Lauralee & Victor Cunha, Lindsay & Cameron Sparks, Sean & Anjelica Locke, and Michael & Jenna Locke, and "GG" to, Madison, Olivia, Brody, Colt, Harry, Ava, Rose, Henry, Chloe, and Emily.

Marylou was a faithful member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She found joy in her family, her community, and sharing in the life events of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Marylou will be deeply missed. In the words of her great-grandchildren, they will miss her great hugs and kisses, the endless sweet treats, and her unconditional love and prayers that surrounded them.

A recitation of the rosary and funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hilmar, CA. Following the services, Marylou will be laid to rest at Turlock Memorial Park.
