Mason Nile Wamsley, 97, passed away November 8, 2023 in Akron. He was born June 23, 1926 in Mill Creek, West Virginia, the son of the late William and Addie Wamsley. Later on he served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII, and then in the U.S. Air Force. Mason retired after many years service with UHAUL. In his free time, he enjoyed bowling and hunting. Mason was a long time member of Uniontown Chapel of Faith, where he taught adult Sunday School. He will always be remembered as a man of faith who had a kind heart.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Barbara Wamsley; eight siblings; and great granddaughter Dominique. Mason is survived by his sister Ruth Mills; son Robert (Norma) Wamsley; daughter Marjorie (Ralph) Blair; son Tim (Bridget) Wamsley; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as numerous neices and nephews.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday at the Adams Mason Funeral Home (791 East Market Street), where funeral services will be held 1:00 PM, Wednesday, November 15, 2023. Rev. Jack Coontz will officiate. Mason will be laid to rest with his wife Barbara at Hillside Memorial Park. Arrangements entrusted to Adams Mason Funeral Home (330) 535-9186
