Mathew Bauer Obituary

Mathew James Bauer was born November 6, 1930, in Swea City, son of Frank and Catherine (Matheis) Bauer. He grew up near Swea City graduating from Swea City High School in 1949. He then served his country in the United States Army for a brief time.
In earlier years Matt moved to Lincoln, Nebraska where he worked masonry construction for a few years. He then moved back to Bancroft where he farmed. Matt loved being with his family. He enjoyed hunting and fishing but most of all, he loved working.
In 2019, Matt moved into area care facilities. Matt died Monday, May 12, 2025, at the age of 94.
He is survived by one sister, Mary Albright of Chaska, MN; many nieces and nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Ed, Joe, Frankie, and John.
