Thomas E. Bauer, age 87, of Wallingford passed away at home with his family by his side on February 2, 2026. For 61years he was the loving husband of Eileen Novajosky Bauer. Thomas was born in Torrington, CT, the son of the late Conrad Sr. and Edna Smith Bauer.

Thomas graduated from Quinnipiac College with a Bachelor of Science. From a young age, he was a dedicated and hardworking man. He spent 30 years as a computer programmer with S.N.E.T. Following his retirement, Thomas continued to work, joining the U.S. Postal Service and later serving as a driver for Masonic and Choate Rosemary Hall.

An active member of Elks Lodge #1365 for many years, Thomas served as a past Exalted Ruler and was named Elk of the Year in 1980. He was also a proud U.S. Air Force veteran. In his free time, Thomas enjoyed cheering on UConn basketball, the Boston Red Sox, and the New England Patriots.

Thomas was an avid camper who loved traveling with his family. Together, they enjoyed many adventures, from camping trips in Rhode Island to cruises and visits throughout Europe.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his daughters, Karen & Barry Pedersen of North Branford and Trisha Bauer & Brian Baroni of Deep River, his granddaughters, Rachael & Justin Hilton of Kentucky, Cassandra Mitchell of North Branford and Demi Bauer of West Virginia, his great grandchildren, Ava, Landon, and Evelyn all of Kentucky, and his sister Marilyn Smedick of Florida. Thomas was predeceased by his son Mark Bauer and his siblings Conrad Bauer Jr., Robert Bauer, Virginia Mosel, and Janet Dlugokinski.

Thomas' family will receive relatives and friends at the Wallingford Funeral Home 809 N. Main St. Ext., Wallingford on Tuesday February 10th from 9:00 – 10:30am. His funeral procession will then leave the funeral for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in the Church of the Resurrection. Inurnment, with military honors, will follow in St. John Cemetery.
