Matilda Ann Mauldin Miller, 78, of Siler City passed away July 11, 2022 at UNC Hospital.
Mrs. Miller was born September 17, 1943, daughter of Grant Eugene and Novella Crutchfield Mauldin.
Matilda was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Siler City where she sang in the Sr. Choir and the Gospel Choir. She also served as a Missionary, Deaconess, a card sender for the bereavement group, and attended the Sunday School Class. Matilda loved to plant flowers, and tend to her garden. She was an avid canner and enjoyed selling Avon products. In addition to her parents, Matilda was preceded in death by her sister Petenia Murdock.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Howard Weldon Miller; son, Myron B. Miller and wife Karen of Siler City; daughter, Carla M. Frazier and husband Abraham, Jr. of Greensboro; grandchildren, Ashton, Dakarai, Micah, Kristina, Brittany, and Trey; great-grandchild, Callie; sisters, Joan Cheek and husband Winfred of Ramseur, Shirley Emerson and husband Alfonzo of Sanford, Cynthia Brooks and husband Larry of Bear Creek, Sandra Mauldin of Pittsboro, and Felecia Mauldin of Siler City; brother, Timothy Mauldin and wife Sherry of Siler City; special sister, Hattie Marsh; and special daughter, Rená Wall.
A funeral service for Mrs. Miller will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at First Missionary Baptist Church in Siler City with Pastor Barry Gray officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 12:30 until 1:00.
