Matt Loring Blackman age 60 left the many people he loved on Oct 13, 2022. He had all who loved and adored him by his side.
A celebration of life for Matt will be Monday October 17 from 6-8pm at Hankins & Whittington.
1111 East Blvd Charlotte, NC 28203
He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Ann Blackman, nephew Matthew Puckett and cousin Joe Stancil.
He is survived by his two sisters whom he loved and fiercely protected Tracy Blackman and Stephanie Puckett (Charles).
Aunt Tina Blackman.
Nephew Jason Blackman (Blake). Nieces Kendall Frye and Stephanie Morris (Winslow). Matt had three grand nieces and one grand nephew who all affectionately loved and called him Uncle Matt. Dayna Vance, Gavin Frye, Braelyn Morris and Harper Morris.
Matt is also survived by his three cousins who he considered siblings. Beverly Stancil (Tommy), Chrisie Horonzy (Rusty) and Ricky Stancil.
He had many extended family members and friends, too many to mention but all know who you are.
Matt served honorably as a Paratrooper in the US ARMY.
He lived a simple and good life. He never asked for anything but more than willingly gave everything. He worked hard yet played little. He liked to talk politics and loved his Fox News when he wasn't channel surfing. Matt also loved to listen to music. He portrayed a gruff exterior but had the most kind, giving, sweet, and selfless heart of anyone. No one ever left his home without an ice cream, candy or anything he had that you may want. Anyone leaving his home would also be walked to the door, watched as they got in their car and told to be careful and watch your surroundings as he cared more about others than himself.
Your watch is over gatekeeper. Your trusty scribe sister and other two sisters will be fine. Have no more worries Pal.
In lieu of flowers Matt would have wanted to give back to the community as he loved children.

So sorry for your loss. Matt was a good man and he worked with my daughter. She is devastated over the loss. She had a very hard time walking into work today. May God bless and comfort you during this sad time.
