Matthew "Matt" Douglas Auxier, 52, of Guthrie, Oklahoma, went to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, August 17, 2025 in Guthrie. He was born July 25, 1973 in Salem, Oregon to Michael Fields and Jennifer Jill (Guinn) Fields Auxier.

Matt's parents divorced and his mother remarried Eldon E. Auxier. Eldon adopted Matt and his sister, Tammy. Upon the marriage of Jennifer and Eldon, the family moved to Byers, Colorado where Matt attended junior high and graduated from high school. He was in the top of his class for 5 years.

He enjoyed playing football and basketball. Matt also enjoyed floating the river and going to the lake and he took his dogs, Lady, Shotgun, and Miss Gertie Girl, on these outings when he could. Matt was a big outdoorsman and loved playing horseshoes.

After Matt graduated from high school, he met Stephanie L. Fyfe and they married. In 2003, they welcomed a son, Chase Dixon Auxier. Matt was on cloud nine and kept saying, "It's a boy!" They also had a daughter, Peyton Leigh Rain Auxier.

Matt and Stephanie divorced and he then met the love of his life, Vivian on July 2, 2009 and they married on July 4, 2017. They lived in the Logan County area after their marriage.

Matt made a living painting homes and he was exceptional at painting and painted the homes of several well-known families in the metro area.

He is preceded in death by his Mom, Jill Auxier; his father-in-law, James "Jim" Quesenberry; grandmother, Ernestine "MaMa" Nichols; uncle, Nathan Davis; and brothers-in-law, Bill May and William "Bill" James Rea, all of Guthrie.

Matt is survived by his wife, Vivian E. Auxier of the home in Guthrie; 2 step-children, Cricket and Mitchell Henry of Edmond, Oklahoma and Brittany Eakins of Guthrie; 3 grandchildren, J.D. and Kaitlyn Splawn of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Braden and MaKayla Henry of Guthrie, and Ryder Henry of Edmond; and great-grandchildren, Maddox Splawn and Eloise Henry of Guthrie. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Tonya May of Guthrie and her children, Randi and Forrestt Wagner, both of Cashion, Oklahoma, Debbie and Mark McHone and son, Jacob, and Shelly A. Henry - Rea, also known as ShellBell of Guthrie. Matt is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and many, many friends. He is also survived by his Uncle, Jeff Fritch who was the best man in his wedding to Vivian and also his best friend, John Winters.

A celebration of life for Matt will be held beginning at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, September 6, 2025 at The Blowout Club. Arrangements are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, 220 North 1st Street, Guthrie, Oklahoma 73044.

A horseshoe tournament and pool tournament will follow the celebration of life. Food will be served at 6:00 P.M. after the conclusion of the horseshoe tournament. A pool tournament will then take place with karaoke following the pool tournament.
