Oliver Wolfington Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Smith-Gallo Funeral Home - Guthrie on Aug. 25, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Oliver Wolfington age 42, of Guthrie, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 23, 2025, surrounded by friends and family after a courageous five-year battle with cancer.

Born on December 16, 1982, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, to Darlene and Alton Wolfington Jr., Oliver was a beloved son, brother, father, and friend. As a child, he loved playing with Tonka trucks, Hot Wheels, and riding bikes around Meridian. His favorite pastime was finding trouble with his twin brother, John. Whether they were trying to annoy their big sister, Brandy, or taking a joyride with whatever they could get the keys for, you could always find the twins together. There is no doubt they are together again now.

Oliver attended Coyle, Guthrie, and Ripley public schools before going on to graduate from Thunderbird Youth Academy in 1999. A few years after his mother's death, his father married Jacki Slocum, where his family grew with the addition of 4 more siblings, Josh, Jake, Jarred, and Jillian (sissy) Slocum.

After finishing his education, Oliver worked various oil field jobs eventually becoming a business owner of his own garage door company in Guthrie, known by many for his work and a personality that was both loved and, at times, a bit vexing to others. He was a jack of all trades and was not afraid to tackle any job.

He was deeply proud of his family, and nothing brought him more joy than being a father to his three sons and one daughter, and a grandfather to his two grandchildren. He cherished his family above all else.

Oliver is preceded in death by his mother, Darlene Wolfington; his paternal grandparents, Lucille and Alton Wolfington, Sr.; his maternal grandparents, Ruth and Archie Starks; his twin brother, John Wolfington, who passed away just two years prior; his uncle, Randall Wolfington; and his aunt, Aloma Wolfington.

He is survived by his children, Dalton Wolfington, Carson Wolfington, Jaden Hawkins, and Hannah Hawkins; his grandchildren, Madelyn Hawkins and David Keenan; his parents, Alton and Jacki Wolfington; his sister, Brandy Evans, her husband Jerramia Westfall, and their children Kailey Evans and Samy Westfall; his brothers, Josh Slocum, Jake Slocum and wife Ashleigh, Jarred Slocum and his children Harper and Journey; and his sister, Jillian Slocum.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 27th, 2025 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Smith-Gallo Funeral Home.

A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 1:00 P.M. to 3:30 P.M. at the VFW located at 5223 S. Division St. in Guthrie. Arrangements are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, 220 North 1st Street, Guthrie, Oklahoma 73044.
