Matthew Bade

Matthew Raymond Bade was born on July 8, 1972, in Trenton, New Jersey to Raymond Wesley Bade and Donna Marie (Brigini) Bade. He died on August 21, 2023, in Lafayette, Indiana at the age of 51. Matt was raised in Hamilton, New Jersey and graduated from Hamilton High School West in 1990. He worked for the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) Emergency Services Patrol. After Matt and his wife relocated to Indiana with their two young boys in 2011, Matt worked at Purdue University and, for the past 10 years, he worked as a truck driver for Tippecanoe County. He could be seen plowing snow in the winter and clearing brush in the summer.
Matt loved fishing with his sons and supported their various scouting endeavors including working at the Boy Scout fry dough booth at the Feast of the Hunter's Moon each fall. He enjoyed vacationing with his family in Brown County and was a regular participant in the life of Bethany Presbyterian Church. Like his mom, he was a life-long NY Yankees fan.
Matt leaves behind his wife, Laura Penney Bade, and their teenage sons John Lee Bade and James Raymond Bade. He is predeceased by his father, Ray Bade. He is survived by his mother Donna Bade of Hamilton, NJ: brother Christopher W. Bade (partner Kellie Rushinski) of Ewing, NJ; aunt Debra E. Mauer (Don) of Jacobstown, NJ and their children Brandon Mauer and Carly Mauer; and Donna's cousin Bradley (Kathryn) Bastedo of Southampton, PA and their son Andrew.
A Service of Witness to the Resurrection will be held on Saturday, September 9, at 11:00am at Bethany Presbyterian Church located at 3305 Longlois Dr., Lafayette, IN 47904 with Rev. Kevin Bowers officiating. Visiting with the family is from 10:00am until the time of the service. Lunch will be served at the church following worship.
