With deep sadness, we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Matthew Joseph Bauer on March 12, 2025, at the age of 48. Born on June 13, 1976, in Southfield, Michigan, Matt was the beloved son of Kathy (Kaczmarek) and the late Norman Bauer.
Matt was a proud graduate of St. Mary’s Preparatory High School and went on to earn his associate degree from Macomb County Community College. A talented graphic designer, he applied his creativity and passion to numerous advertising and retail organizations throughout his career.
Outside of his career, Matt was a devoted and proud father who found joy in sharing life’s many adventures with his sons. Nothing brought him more happiness and sense of purpose than being able to raise his sons, showing them the way of the world and how to be good young men. As an avid outdoorsman, he loved camping, fishing, hiking, skiing and spending days at the beach with his sons, family and friends. A true foodie, he relished exploring new flavors and culinary experiences. Matt had a big personality and a dreamer’s spirit, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. He had a deep love for music, frequently attending concerts and showcasing his skills as a talented “air drummer.” Proud of his Polish heritage, he was a gifted Polish dancer in his younger years. As a passionate University of Michigan football fan, he enjoyed cheering on his favorite team and embracing the excitement of the game.
Matt is survived by his former spouse, Lauren Bauer, and their two cherished sons, Jackson and Benjamin. He also leaves behind his loving mother, Kathy, and his three sisters, Jennifer, Heather, and Nicole (Kyle) Macyda, along with seven nieces and nephews (Ashley, Brookelynn. Michael, Katelynne, Nickolas, Abigail and Markus). His family and friends will forever remember him for his warmth, ambition, and the love he shared.
He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
The visitation will be held March 17, 2025 from 12-5 pm and the funeral service will be held at 5 pm at Manns Family Funeral Home, 17000 Middlebelt Rd., Livonia 48154.
