Celebrating the Life of Matthew Gonzales Bevers
March 3, 1986 – April 15, 2025
If you knew Matthew Bevers, you probably laughed with him, prayed with him, or had your guitar tuned by him-maybe all three. On April 15, 2025, Matthew left this world, leaving behind a lot of memories, a few inside jokes, and a family that will forever miss his warm presence.
Born on March 3, 1986, in Moses Lake, Washington, Matthew lived a life full of heart. He grew up in Wenatchee and Pasco, and from a young age, he learned the value of hard work. He worked in framing until he eventually built his own home remodeling company. Over the years, he lived in Washington, Mexico, and Utah-each place a part of his journey, each one holding pieces of the story he was writing.
He was a man of faith, music, and mischief-the kind of guy who could talk Scripture, cheer for his favorite team, and still find time to teach his siblings how to strum a guitar before they hit double digits. (Spoiler: he was a pretty great teacher.)
He served God joyfully through Rondalla music at Riverview Baptist Church as a teenager, and his love for Jesus was something he carried quietly but faithfully every day of his life.
Matthew is survived by the love of his life, Michelle Lopez, and his beautiful children: Mia, Enzo, Aniah, and Ander-each of them carrying a piece of his spirit. He also leaves behind his proud mother, Edna Medina; his biological father, Raymond Bevers; and his stepfather, Gilberto Medina. His siblings include Raymond Bevers (his brother from his mother's side) and another Raymond Bevers (his brother from his father's side), Amy Bevers, Idahlia (Lala) Romero, Elisa Haro, Jacquelin Hoyt, Adrian Medina, and Hannah Medina-who now have a lifetime of "Matt stories" to tell (and re-tell).
He was welcomed into Heaven by his grandparents, Silvestre and Antonia Gonzales, and his beloved aunt, RosaMaria Gonzales-no doubt greeted with a big hug.
Matthew loved every sport. He was a hard-working man who enjoyed playing soccer and baseball, and he especially treasured Monday and Friday nights watching wrestling with his family. Family time was sacred, and sports were his passion.
Matt helped everyone he could. He was kind and loving, a friend to everyone. He had a gift for conversation and could talk about any topic with ease, making people feel seen, heard, and understood. He made friends wherever he went-and somehow remembered everyone's name. If you were his friend, you were family.
Special thanks to Pastor Jory Petitti, and to all the friends and loved ones who showed up.
Matthew's life was a song of faith, family, and friendship. Though he has left this earthly life, his melody lingers on in the hearts of all who loved him.

I met Matt, while he finished my friends basement. He was kind, funny & quick to offer help / solutions.
I got to know him a little over the last couple years and my biggest take away is that he always had a huge smile on his face, radiated gratitude & talked about his family with love. I was lucky to see him a few days before his passing and to be blessed by that huge grin! His family, wife & children are forever in my prayers.

Matt worked with me at 3 Day Kitchen & Bath for the past year and a half. He was a very hard worker, always kept his commitments, never let me down and did great work. All of our customers loved him and appreciated how focused he was on the details. He was always smiling and fun to work with. I will always have great memories of working with Matt, he will be greatly missed.
