Matthew A. Burns

Matthew A. Burns, age 55 of Fremont, passed away early Sunday morning, April 9, 2023 at his home. He was born on February 12, 1968 in Muskegon, Michigan to Charles A. & Jo Ann (Gray) Burns. Matt graduated from Reeths Puffer High School in 1986, and he was a licensed builder. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and watching his boys play football. On May 4, 2002 he married Leslie Swiger and she survives him along with 3 sons: Dakota (Alexis) Burns, and twins Nathan & Jacob Burns; 1 granddaughter, Oakleigh Burns; his parents, Charles & Jo Ann Burns; brother, Aaron Burns; brother-in-law, Chris (Renee) Haner; and several nieces & nephews, aunts, uncles, & cousins. Matt was preceded in death by his mother-in-law Carol DeGraaf, and by his sisters-in-law Lynda Burns & Sue Laban.
