I am very saddened by the news of Matt´s passing. I grew up across the street and have very fond memories of playing basketball with Matt and his brothers. There were many times that we got to play ball in his driveway until the street lights came on. What I remember about Matt is he was very funny and just an all-around awesome guy. I remember the first time I saw him in his uniform when he started working within the criminal justice system. I haven´t seen Matt or his family in a very long time, but there are many memories that I have of him and his brothers and the times I spent at their house. He will definitely be missed. I am praying for his wife, his children and his family. I am praying for strength, peace and comfort for all who are close to him during this difficult time. May you rest in peace

I had the privilege of growing up across the street from the Burns family. I was the youngest in the neighborhood and always had so much fun watching Matt play basketball with all the boys. I haven´t seen him in years but have so many memories of him. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Matt and I worked at the Sheriffs Department years ago together and became fast friends! We had many great times together and then he moved on to Court Officer. I hadn´t seen him in years but I still considered him a good friend! I remember his brother Mike had a deal w/ Reebok,Matt used to give me Nike gear that Mike couldn´t wear due to his contract! My deepest condolences to the Burns family,Laurie and the kids! He´ll NEVER be forgotten!
