Matthew Burns

Matthew Burns, 49, of Attleboro, MA, was born April 15, 1976, and passed away on June 5, 2025, following a tragic accident in Wareham, MA. His sudden loss has left an immeasurable void in the lives of his family, friends, and the many communities who knew and loved him.
Matt was a force of nature, brave, funny and brilliant. A carpenter by trade, he could master anything he set his mind to, from mechanics to building or fixing anything. He was deeply active in the motorcycle community, where he found not just friendship, but a second family. He rode hard, helped anyone who needed it, and left his mark on every road and every person lucky enough to ride alongside him.
He leaves behind a legacy of love through his children - Joe, Jayson, and Abigail - whom he loved more than anything; Joe's partner Jen King and their girls, Winter, Fiona, and Matt's soon-to-be granddaughter, Alice. He shared his life with his partner, Crystal, who brought joy, support, and love in recent years, and remained close with his former wife and friend, Jennifer Burns. He is deeply cherished by his brother, James Burns III, sister-in-law Sharon DiSilvestri, and their son Dante; his sister, Sheryl Burns, and her children Nicholas, Jacob and Brenden. Matt also had a deep love for his dogs - Romeo, Capone, Daisy, and Moose - each one a companion through different chapters of his life. He also leaves behind countless friends, chosen family, and riding brothers and sisters who will carry his memory on every ride.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025 from 4-8 pm at Duffy- Poule Funeral and Cremation Service, 20 Peck Street Attleboro, MA. All who knew and loved Matt are welcome to attend.
