Matthew Keith Cagle, age 52 of Mansfield, died Wednesday, September 17, 2025. Matthew "Matt" Keith Cagle was born in Atlanta, Georgia on December 20, 1972. He was the son of Keith Durell and Shirley Jean Cagle and brother to Jennifer Cagle Bowen. He was a devoted husband to Christie and the love of her life. They celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary on September 5th. He was an amazing father to Coleigh and Mason. Matt loved the Lord and served as a deacon at Calvary Baptist Church (Conyers). He loved spending time with his dogs and was an extremely gifted dog trainer, spending hours in the afternoon with them. A talented craftsman, he could build and fix anything. The craftsmanship shown around his home is a testament to his expertise. He could also "piddle" all day too! Matt competed in rodeo as a bull rider from 14 years to 26 years of age and won several buckles and titles. He continues to be remembered and respected in the rodeo community. You could also say that the path of his life came out of his rodeo days. An avid outdoorsman, he preferred the outdoors. He loved hunting and fishing and found peace and joy in the woods and on the lake. He also loved to load his own ammunition and build guns. He was employed by Cornerstone Control Systems and was dedicated and trusted for many years. Matt was a loyal friend. Matt was a quiet, honest, and strong man that so many people admired and respected. He didn't waste words and was trusted by many. He would take your secret to the grave. His first grandson is due in December. He was looking forward to being a "Pops" to Brooks Keith Cagle, aka "Buck". Matt is survived by his wife of 33 years, Christie Cagle; daughter, Nicole (Shane) McCullough, son, Mason ( Janna) Cagle, beloved dog; Miya, grandson, Brooks Keith Cagle, Mother, Shirley Jean Cagle, Father, Keith Durell Cagle, sister, Jennifer (Brian) Bowen, mother-in-law, Wanda Haygood, brothers-in-law, Junior (Cindy) Haygood, Peyton Haygood, niece and nephew, Jacey (Kenny) Steadham, Kord Bowen.
