Matthew Coates Obituary
Matthew David Coates, 50, passed away March 9, 2026 in Chandler, Arizona.
A small memorial gathering for close family and friends was held to celebrate his life on March 23.
Matthew was born in Page, Arizona and he spent the majority of his life in his beautiful home state. Matthew enjoyed church, tennis, theater, and relaxing at home with family. He loved working hard and had an entrepreneurial spirit and work ethic to be marveled. Matthew thrived through being a connector- of business, people, and of community. His greatest joy, however, was found in his faith and family. Nothing made him more proud than seeing his children flourish in their own lives.
Matthew is survived by his wife of 28 years, Tia, his children, Ash Stephen and Miller Dylan, parents, James and Sandi Coates, Theresa Coates, siblings, Mark (LeAnne), Rebecca (Tony), David (Amber), and Michele (Jeff) as well as many niblings, treasured cousins, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his beloved father, Stephen Louis.
