Matthew Colin Donohue, 54, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.
Born in Quincy, Mass., on October 21, 1971, he was the beloved son of Kathleen A. (Mullane) Donohue and the late John R. "Jack" Donohue. He moved with his family to Litchfield in 1981 and attended local schools.
Many will remember Matt as the funny, friendly face behind the bar at Bohemian Pizza, where he worked as a bartender. He was an avid fan of the N.Y. Rangers, N.Y. Giants and N.C.I.S. A true New Englander, he wore cargo shorts all year round.
Matt's humor, smile and kindness will be missed by his family, his many friends and strangers alike.
In addition to his mother, Kathy, of Litchfield, Matt is survived by his sister, Maura Donohue and her partner, Jonas Harman, both of Silver Spring, MD; his uncle, Richard Donohue; his aunt, Ann Marie Donohue, both of Weymouth, MA; and amongst his many cousins, Keri Donohue of MS; Ryan Donohue of OH and Evan Donohue of MA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am, on Tuesday, November 18, at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 49 South Street, Litchfield. Burial will be private and there are no calling hours.
