Matthew Ford

Matthew Dean Ford, age 39, passed away on January 29, 2026. He was born on April 20, 1986, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Matthew was an involved and caring member of the Ogden community. He knew no strangers as a barber, artist, patron, and friend. Whether he was cutting hair, painting in his studio, or spending time at the local coffee shop, Matthew truly didn't know a stranger. He had a rare ability to make people feel seen and welcome wherever he went, and his barber chair was as much a place of connection as it was of craft.

Above all else, Matthew was a devoted father and proud girl-dad to his three beautiful daughters, who were the center of his world. He cherished time spent with them and found his greatest joy in being their dad.

Matthew had a deep love for the outdoors and spent many of his happiest moments camping and hiking in the mountains around Moab, Utah. A lifelong creative, he was an accomplished painter and craftsman whose work reflected his unique vision and spirit. Whether through his art, his work as a barber, or the way he showed up for the people around him, Matthew was driven by a simple but profound desire: to leave the world more beautiful than he found it.

Matthew is survived by his daughters, Taiah, Olivia, and Ivy; loving parents, Gregory and Rebecca Ford, his sister, Melissa Austin, 28 cousins, 6 Aunts and Uncles, 2 grandparents, and the many friends, clients, and community members whose lives were shaped by knowing him.
