A Celebration of Life visitation for Matthew Hall, age 67, of Spirit Lake, Iowa, will be held Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 9:30 - 11:30 am, at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. There will be a Celebration of Life service at 11:30 am followed by interment at Lakeview Gardens Cemetery in Spirit Lake. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in memory of Matt.
Matthew "Matt" Hall, 67, passed away on July 27, 2025. He graduated from Humboldt High School and went on to study Restaurant and Hospitality at Iowa Lakes Community College.
Matt was a respected business owner, running The Grill and later The Family Diner alongside his beloved wife for over 30 years. He was a man of many talents and passions, including fishing, cooking, and woodworking. More than anything, Matt cherished spending time with his family.
His greatest hope was that his children would do good in the world, and he was proud of all they have accomplished. Known for his warm spirit and easy laughter, Matt had a special way of making friends wherever he went.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mike and Jeanie Hall. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Darlene Hall; his children, Kiesha Johanson, Freddy Hall, and William Hall; his grandchildren, Bentley and Paxton Hall step grandchildren, Blair and Ashlynn; and his brothers, Jay and Michael Hall.
Matt was a vibrant soul who brought joy and laughter to every room. He will be missed by many.
