Matthew R. Mahoney

Matthew R. Mahoney, age 20, of East Towanda, PA passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024.
Matthew was born on July 15, 2003 in Sayre, PA the son of Michael R. and Suzanne Stevens Mahoney of East Towanda, PA. He was a graduate of Towanda High School with the class of 2021. He obtained his Associate of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology Degree from Mansfield University in 2023. He was proud of the career he recently began at UHS Binghamton General Hospital as a Cat Scan Technologist.
He was an outdoor enthusiast. Matthew was an avid bullhead, trout and creek fisherman, deer hunter, and squirrel hunter. In high school he was a track letterman in sprints and pole vault. He enjoyed collecting and trading coins. He also took great pleasure in volunteering with the New Albany Children's Fund. Most of all he was family oriented and enjoyed get-togethers and game nights.
Matthew is survived by his parents; his brother, Michael J. Mahoney and his wife, Karla, of Towanda, PA; his nephew, Thomas Mahoney; his aunts and uncles, Patty Wulff of Wyalusing, PA, Barb Speary of Lost Lake, PA, Kim and Bill Francis of Edenton, NC, Debra Harrell of Edenton, NC, Bob and Tammy Fries of College Park, GA, Brian Zammarron of Boston, MA, Diana Zammarron of Lake Champlain, NY, and Jason and Kara Pierce of Danville, PA; his great-aunt, Francis Jo Sick of Dushore, PA; as well as many cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John Stevens (d. April 17, 2016) and Nancy Tuttle Stevens (d. July 20, 1991).
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
