Matthew James Militello, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025, after a battle with cancer, in his home in Rockport, MA. surrounded by his family.

Born in Gloucester, son of the late Michael and Vincie Militello. Matthew was a graduate of Gloucester High class of 1972.

Matthew shared fond memories of riding his bike and fishing around town as a child. He pursued a certificate to become a Journeyman Electrician and worked at Gloucester Engineering for 42 years. He met his beautiful wife in 1980, married her in 1982, and shared 43 wonderful years of marriage together. Matthew was avid fisherman, car enthusiast, father, grandparent and professional at getting his grandchildren riled up before bed. His memory lives on and is honored through his many friends and family whose lives he touched. There was never a time he did not answer a call or message for help or provide a word of wisdom. Matthew never missed an opportunity to dance, laugh or enjoy life to the fullest. His qualities of perseverance, ingenuity and respect were tenets he lived by.
