Beloved husband of Hye Nan Chang Miller, loving father of Christopher Miller and Tegan Miller, dear brother of the late Robert Miller and Jacqueline Schwartz, and also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Matthew served in the US First Division Army Infantry from 1975 to 1979. His military service was a highlight of his life and the time he spent in the army filled him with much pride.
Matthew was born and raised in Queens, New York, and after his service in the army, worked as a dockbuilder. He came from a family of dockbuilders who helped build New York City.
Matthew had a deep reverence for Gettysburg, PA, and everything that battle stood for. He frequently visited and brought friends and family to share in his vast knowledge of the Civil War.
Matthew loved Tobyhanna State Park and often walked the peaceful lake daily.
