Matthew Robert Moore, 43, of Martinsburg, W,V passed away peacefully by the side of his devoted wife, Jennifer, and went to be with the Lord on May 15, 2024, at Hospice of the Panhandle, Kearneysville, WV. He suffered greatly with a long battle of Colorectal Cancer, in which Jennifer took care of him every minute.
Born August 1, 1980, in Memphis, TN, he is the son of Beverly Lucille Moore and the late John William Moore, Jr.
In addition to his mother, Matthew is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Kay Paxton Moore; children, Trevor, Brycen, and Emma Moore; sisters Shannon Hall and husband Michael and Jennifer Shepherd and husband Stanley; sister-in-law Heather Lockhart; nieces and nephews, Andrew Hall, Nicholas Shepherd, Aaron Hall and wife Kacie, Sarah Makamson and husband Jonathan, Mary Shepherd, Amber Lopez and husband David, and Caitlyn Paxton; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Alan and Sara Paxton.
Of utmost importance, Matthew is most remembered as loving his wife and children dearly. His whole world was wrapped around supporting and providing for them with everything they ever needed. He attended all athletic and educational functions for his children being the biggest cheerleader for them. He was a peaceful and thoughtful man who would help anyone in need.
Matthew was a graduate of Fort Hill High School. He graduated with a bachelor's degree focused on a major in computer science and a minor in mathematics at Frostburg State University.
Matthew accepted a position as a Senior Computer Programmer and Analyst at Information Management Services in 2003. He worked for them for over 20 years, analyzing data for cancer research on the Prostate, Lung, Colorectal, and Ovarian Cancer (PLCO) team in Rockville, MD.
In his spare time, Matthew enjoyed hiking, fishing, playing Fantasy Football and video games. It cannot be emphasized enough that he was a lifelong Detroit Lions fan when they were not so popular. Now some of his extended family are fans as well.

Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., Cumberland, MD, on Tuesday from noon until 1 PM.
The funeral service will follow at 1 PM in the funeral home, with Pastor Michael Mudge, officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
