Matthew J. "Matt" Morgan

NORWOOD - Matthew James Morgan, born January 27, 1970, passed away unexpectedly on February 4, surrounded by family and so much love. Matthew, known to everyone as Matt, grew up in Norwood, New York, where he formed lifelong friendships and memories that stayed with him throughout his life. On May 24, 1997, he married Melanie Cotey, sharing 28 years of love and respect.

Together, Matt and Melanie raised two beautiful children, Jordan Jean and Jacob Charles (Peyton Sheehan), who were the pride and joy of his life. Matt was also looking forward to the arrival of his granddaughter, expected with Jacob and Peyton. A hardworking and entrepreneurial spirit, Matt started his own business, MCS Communications, which he built with dedication and pride. Never one to sit still, he also took on several side ventures over the years, including a storage shed business and installing generators-always willing to put in the work and lend his skills to others. Matt was beyond generous and never sought recognition for the things he did for others. He was a man of few words, but when he spoke, people listened-and there was usually humor and sarcasm involved.

Matt's happy place, besides his home, was spending time at hunting camp at Weller Mountain, where he found peace in the outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, and snowmobiling. His most recent hobby was playing golf, a game he proudly admitted he wasn't very good at, embracing it with the same humor he brought to life.

Matt is survived by his loving parents, Charles B. Morgan (Chuck) and Karen T. Morgan; his sisters, Cheryl and Timothy Doyle (Colton) and Debbie and David Cox (New Smyrna Beach, FL); and many extended family members and friends who will miss him deeply.

Matt will be remembered for his quiet generosity, strong work ethic, love of the outdoors, devotion to his family, and the lasting impact he made on everyone who knew him. His memory will live on through the lives he touched and the love he leaves behind.
