Matthew Joseph Reczek

Matthew Joseph Reczek, 31, of Park Ridge, Illinois-a husband, son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend- left this world far too soon on December 3, 2025 in his LA home. Matthew is survived by his wife Luna, his parents Andrzej and Bernadette and his three sisters Alicia, Natalie and Emily. After graduating from Maine South in 2012, Matthew joined the Marine Corps. Leaving the Corps in 2014 due to a knee injury, he spent the next years of his life scouting out new career options. He finally settled into the world of construction. In early 2023, Matthew met Luna; they spent the next months exploring, making new memories and they married later that year. Despite the love shared, Matthew decided to venture out on his own to LA in the Fall 2024. Matthew spent the last year of his life in LA making new friends and experiencing life.
Matthew lived with the heart of an old soul- philosophical beyond his years. An avid reader and lifelong learner, he embraced new books, ideas and challenged convention. Sports filled many days of Matthew's life, from playing baseball and soccer to his love for The Premier League. The soundtrack of Matt's life was filled with music, movies, video games and podcasts that he loved. Matthew found joy in nature; you could always find him outside, usually hiking or fishing and his love for animals was undisputed. He found a way to bring home any cat, fish, snake, gerbil, lizard, frog, or creature he could (even if he had to sneak them into the house).
Regardless of his struggles, he will forever be remembered by those who knew and loved him for his heart of gold, charismatic personality, contagious smile, funny laugh and the many happy shared memories. Matthew's story ended far too early, but he lived life to the beat of his own drum and his impact is immeasurable. We find solace in knowing Matthew is loved and his mind and soul are at peace. His grandparents and passed loved ones welcome him with open arms.

Opuszczajac Korpus w 2014 roku z powodu kontuzji kolana, spedzil kolejne lata swojego zycia, szukajac nowych mozliwosci kariery. W koncu zadomowil sie w swiecie budownictwa. Na poczatku 2023 roku Mateusz poznal Lune; spedzili kolejne miesiace na odkrywaniu swiata, tworzeniu nowych wspomnien, a jeszcze tego samego roku wzieli slub. Pomimo wzajemnej milosci, Mateusz postanowil jesienia 2024 roku wyruszyc sam do Los Angeles.Tam spedzil ostatni rok swojego zycia, nawiazujac nowe znajomosci szukajac nowych wrazen i krajobrazów.
Mateusz zyl z sercem starej duszy – filozoficznie ponad swój wiek. Zapalony czytelnik i czlowiek, który uczy sie przez cale zycie, z entuzjazmem czytal nowe ksiazki, czerpiac z nich inspiracje i kwestionujac konwenanse. Sport wypelnial wiele dni zycia Mateusza, od gry w baseball i pilke nozna po milosc do Premier League. Mateusz odnajdywal radosc w naturze; zawsze mozna go bylo spotkac na swiezym powietrzu, zazwyczaj wedrujacego lub lowiacego ryby, a jego milosc do zwierzat byla niekwestionowana. Znalazl sposób, by przyprowadzic do domu kazdego kota, rybe, weza, chomika, jaszczurke, zabe lub inne stworzenie, jakie tylko mógl (nawet jesli musial je przemycic do domu).
Bez wzgledu na swoje zmagania, na zawsze pozostanie w pamieci tych, którzy go znali i kochali za jego zlote serce, charyzmatyczna osobowosc, zarazliwy usmiech, zabawny smiech i wiele szczesliwych wspólnych wspomnien. Historia Mateusz zakonczyla sie zdecydowanie za wczesnie, ale zyl wlasnym zyciem, a jego wplyw jest nieoceniony. Znajdujemy ukojenie w swiadomosci, ze Mateusz byl i jest kochany, a jego umysl i dusza zaznaly spokoju. Jego dziadkowie i zmarli bliscy witaja go z otwartymi ramionami.
