Dad,
You were the best Dad. I've tried to think of anything else to say, but words are hard to come by for me now. You've always been the best Dad. You've always had the most kind heart. And always had something funny or witty to say. You could lighten a tense-filled room with one single witty line. Your presence has always been calm, healing.
You taught me so many things. You taught me to bake, you taught me gardening, how to defend myself, and I'm 100% certain that my sense of humor is all from you. You taught me how to correctly throw and catch a ball. There are a million things through the years that you've taught me, showed me how to do. You always made sure I knew how to think for myself. When you'd help me with my homework, you never gave me the answer. You helped me to reach the answer myself. You've always been the smartest person I know. Any time I had a question about how something worked or about any aspect of life, you were the one I asked. I just knew that you had answer, as a kid and an adult. You'd never admit it, but I know that you knew everything about anything. You were the most humble person in the world.
There's so much more to say, but I could write a book and it still wouldn't be enough. I'm at a loss for words again. All I can think about is how much I love you and miss you.

Dearest Matthew,
Your death has left an enormous hole in the hearts of all of our family. You were a devoted and loving husband to our daughter Elaine, a loving father to Megan and Derrick as well as a doting grandfather to Jordan, Natalie and Jackson . Dad and I will never forget the dinner you arranged for us so that you could ask for Elaine's hand in marriage. Such a gentleman and that defined you in all your relationships.
May you enjoy the company of the angels and rest in peace with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

I remember always coming down to the badge office and visiting the group down there; Matthew always had a smile and a witty comment. I know it is hard to lose a loved one; please stay strong and God bless you!

When I think of Matt, the words "gentle", "kind", and "friendly" come to mind. He was soft-spoken and always ready with a smile. Even though I didn't work with him directly, I always appreciated his willingness to be helpful. A good man has left us.

Matt was the most even-keeled person I ever met. He always seemed to be able to shrug his shoulders and give you a smile. He was a legacy at NASA Ames Research Center. Such a kind man. You'll be missed, Matt.

Matt, you were always a pleasure to be around and you were an excellent co-worker and a good friend. Since you retired, our building has had so much emptiness without you there. Now, there is definitely a larger void in all our hearts that will never again be filled without you here. Matt, you will truly be missed and all our prayers and most sincere condolences go out to you and your entire family.

Till we meet again! REST IN PEACE MY FRIEND!
Matt was one , when I was having a bad day at work, would stop me and give me a good laugh, to cheer me up and make a bad day bearable. I always could count on him to put a smile on my face!
