Hilton - Our Beloved son, Matthew David Schwartz, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 14th, 2024 at the age of 32. Matthew was an avid reader and writer who would read anything he could get his hands on. He loved to skateboard and swim. He loved to laugh–enjoying all types of comedy; he listened to all sorts of music - Blink 182 was his favorite, and he was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He loved the superhero Batman from childhood, his favorite movie being Batman (1966). A favorite nickname of his and his family was Mattman, one he carried his whole life. He was family to all who met him and he loved animals, specifically his childhood dog, Maximilian, and his cat, Bartholomew. His love of cats is a trait that continues to live on in his son. His many family members and friends will so greatly miss him.
He is survived by his son, Matthew Kidder; his parents Connie Schwartz-Kidder & Richard Kidder; Ronald (Kate) Coyle; his siblings, Nicholas Kidder, Elizabeth Kidder, Cassandra Kidder, Kendall Coyle, Bailey Coyle, and Owen Coyle. His maternal grandparents, Richard & Barbara Schwartz and Fred & Barbara Vincelli; his paternal grandmothers, Roberta Christensen and Barbara Coyle. His nephews, Michael Kidder and Leo Houser; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Matthew was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Ronald Coyle Sr. and Richard & Anita Kidder.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the future, with information to be posted at a later date.
Services will be held for now at the convenience of the family.
In place of flowers and to honor his care of animals, donations can be made in Matthew's name online at https://www.vsas.org/donate/ or mailed to Verona Street Animal Society, 184 Verona St, Rochester, NY, 14608.

matt was my friend and i miss him. he was kind and he loved to laugh and i wish he was still here laughing with us. i celebrate five years sober today and i wish he was here, too. he loved his kid more than anything. before he left he said he's so grateful his son is loved, even if he wasn't always there. he said he left his kid in good hands and he was grateful.
love.

Matthew was my friend and I will miss him dearly. He was one of the most talented people I knew and, if he knew how to harness those talents productively, his life would have been very different. I know that, now, he will find the peace that eluded him here on earth. I am glad to call him my friend.

Matt was always like an older brother to me. I regret not getting in touch and reaching out to him sooner. I remember snow drifting, going to the gym and playing video games. He never failed to cheer you up when you were down and he never failed to look at the positive side of things. May he RIP.
