Matt I love you very much and will Dearly miss you, you were always there for me no matter what, like when I was in the hospital so many times. You always came to visit me and would bring anything I wanted to eat. I remember you telling me to not give up that you have to craw before you walk. I also remember the time you took me to see Big Bend, Marithon Tx you blink your eye's and you would miss it, also Fort Stockton, man was it HOT early July. That was the ride of a life time! I also remember you telling me if I wanted to go on another ride just tell me and we would go no matter where, we were going to go on another ride this summer, I still see you every day on that new HONDA GOLD WING. MATT you were a Brother like no other, I LOVE YOU AND WILL MISS YOU VERY MUCH, LOVE Jerry,

My husband chip McDaniel worked with Matt, and I was a dispatcher, I never gave him a job he wouldn't do with a smile. He even bought me a beautiful neck less one year when he was on vacation. So sorry to hear this.

Teresa, I just found and read the obituary. It was beautiful. I also looked through all the pictures. I can see that you two must have had some great adventures. I can tell by all the sympathy notes written that Matt was a man of honor and loved by many. Johnny and I never got the chance to meet him, but I know we would have been great friends. Take care, my friend, and don't hesitate to call if you need anything. Love you.

In typical Mat fashion.... The Wednesday before Thanksgiving i came to work to find hot donuts and kolache's waiting for me as i walked in the door. After i was diagnosed with type2 diabetes about 5 years ago he would allways include some Kolache's knowing i could not eat the donuts anymore. Mike,Ron,Ben and myself worked with Mat all day that day and for lunch Mike, Mat and myself ate lunch at cheweys. The waitress came over after we were done and asked if we wanted the check split and we said yes. Mat got up and went to the restroom and when the waitress came back the ticket had been paid and mat had a grin from ear to ear. Mat was one of a kind and all i have are great memories about him and you will never find someone who truly loved doing for other people like Mat Scott did.
I will miss you brother

I offer my sincerest condolences to Teresa and the rest of Matt's family.
Matt was such a giving and fun person to be around. I am so fortunate to have worked with Matt many years at Ma'Bell.
Right now I am working in Austin staying at the hotel Matt stayed in with us just a few weeks ago. I just stood in the gazebo where Matt would hang out most nites. Swapping tales and laughing...It's cold here now and the place was empty and quiet. Work and life for those of us who were lucky enough to have know Matt will be a colder and quieter place....Jon

Matt, the road won't be the same without you on it. All the miles, the sights the fun the friendship we shared, can never be taken away. I will miss you but will try my best to live life like you taught me. Ride in Peace Brother

Matthew, i have been thinking about when we were kids, how you would try and shut us up in the trundle bed, and the time you and Pam spent the night at our house, and we climb under our book shelf bed that we could sit up under, i think we were going to play, and knew Momma and Daddy would kills us, so we sat up under the bookshelf part and lit a candle, when Hollis came home from his date, he nearly killed us, told how stupid we were, because back them the beds had bed springs and cotton mattress, boy was God ever with us. Love you then and love you now. You are now with Uncle Toot, Daddy, Uncle Byron, Uncle Buck and Uncle Bill, take them a ride on your motorcycle, and bye the way, give Uncle Toot a kiss and let him know i love and miss him, and give my momma a kiss and a great big hug, but dont take her on a ride, cause the outcome would not be good. I love you, and will miss you, your cousin Mary Catherine Scott Jolly
