Matthew W. Scully

Matthew William Scully, 51, of Rensselaer, NY, passed away on 5/27/24, at 13:30. Matthew was born October 29, 1972, in Albany, NY; the son of Joseph F. Scully Sr. and Harriet H. Snyder.
**Warning** while most obituaries will have a loving explanation of someone's life, we all know that Matthew would murder his children if this obituary was about anything less than his funny catch phrases or an exhausted explanation of his love for Anna Mae.
So, Matt was predeceased by, "the absolute love of his life", Anna Mae Scully. Matt was deeply in love with Anna Mae and devoted 35 long and passionate years to her. Matt and Anna Mae enjoyed the mutual love of smoking a "fatty" and hanging with their beloved friends and family, Matt was best known to everyone in the city of Rensselaer as "Anna Mae's Husband" and he wore it with a badge of honor. He was also the self-proclaimed "Uncle-Daddy" to his and Anna's 5 adopted "red headed stepchildren". Matthew loved to brag about being a "blunt and joint rolling machine - that no one could compete with". Matthew made it a daily routine to wake up at the "a$$ crack of dawn" roll a mountain of joints before heading off to work. Matthew did this to ensure that his "Mama (Anna Mae)" was prepared for her stressful day of dealing with "HER!!" 5 kids. Matt went to these lengths to avoid a screaming phone call from "Mama" asking: "where are you daddy? these kids are driving me nuts!!". Matt would always reply: "where the hell do you think I am? I'm working so you can go to Walmart".
On the flip side, when Matt was left to tend to "HER!!" children, Matt would call "Mama" and ask when she would be home from Walmart. "Mama" would always reply with: "I'm coming down Washington Ave right now". However, Matt could still hear the beeping of the register at Walmart over the phone. (Beep, Beep).. to all those reading this – Don't lie, we all know that infamous sound. After Anna Mae's passing, Matthew dove head-first into writing poems. Writing became Matt's only way to express his deep love and heartbreak for Anna Mae. Matthew was in the process of getting his poems published for "the entire world to read about the love he had for his wife".
Survivors include Matthew's children: Rachel (Matthew) Young; Nicole (James) Manzer; Katrina (Anthony) Snay; Richard (Tiffany) Mollenkopf III; William (Remy) Mollenkopf, and his beloved favorite nephew, David Garrison. Matthew was the proud "Papa" to: Sophia, Kaitlyn, Dominick, Natalie, Mackenzie, Ethan, Elliot, Skylin, Keelan, Andrew, Nicolas, Erin, and Melania. Matthew was also survived by his loving Mother, Harriet, his devoted sister, Enola, and his best friend and loving brother, Joe. Matthew also left behind his loving Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins, along with an extended family: Antonio Bridges, Thomas Bridges, Theresa Delgado, and Luis Delgado.
In conclusion, as Matthew would always say "I Love myself some Anna Mae"
