Matthew Sparks, age 51, a resident of Middlesboro, KY, passed away September 6, 2025 at the Middlesboro ARH.

He was born October 22, 1973 in Pineville, KY to the late Eula Jean Slife. In addition to his mother, Matthew was preceded in death by his grandparents Elmer and Kizzie Reeves, Uncle Bill Reeves and wife Janet Sparks.

Matthew was always recognized for having a smile on his face and being friendly. He was an amazing friend who was always willing to help others. He especially enjoyed going to the flea market and goodwill, spending time outside and celebrating the 4th of July. He loved singing and playing music, watching wrestling, spending time with his family and dogs.

Matthew is survived by his father Rex Slife, soon to be wife Rebecca Cody, children Brittany Sparks, Becky (David) Phelps, Matthew Deawayne Sparks, step-children Steven Raymond, Dustin Raymond, sister Mary R. Fields, aunt Rita Harmon, grandchildren Chloe Nida, Blaine Baker, Kevin Baker, Brittly Cornish, Tatum Hoskins, Hayden Levi Sparks, Madison Collins, best friend Tim Hembree, friends Bill Hopper and George, special friend Stephanie Bells and a host of friends from the flea market who were a 2nd family and other relatives and friends who will all miss him dearly.

In Lieu of flowers, the family recommends that all contributions be made to the Green Hills Funeral Home to help cover final expenses.

Funeral Services will be announced when they become available.
