Matthew Allen Stephens, born on January 13, 1965, departed from this world on January 6, 2026. He leaves behind a legacy defined by his adventurous spirit, humility, and unwavering generosity. Matthew was a man who embraced life fully, living each day with enthusiasm and purpose.
As an accomplished carpenter, Matthew honed his skills with a dedication that reflected his passion for creating and building. Those who knew him often remarked on his craftsmanship, likening it to a modern-day expression of the skills attributed to Jesus. He was not only a talented tradesman but also a giver at heart, always ready to lend a hand or share moments of joy with others.
Matthew found immense happiness in the companionship of his dogs and the exhilaration of riding motorcycles. Whether he was taking long rides through the countryside or simply enjoying quiet moments with his beloved pets, he radiated a zest for life that inspired those around him.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Judith Clothier Stephens, with whom he shared thirty-three wonderful years. His sisters, Colleen Stephens, Joan Stephens, and Pamela Stephens Spacek, also survive him, cherishing the memories they created together as siblings.
Matthew was preceded in death by his parents, John Sr and Kathleen Stephens, and siblings John H Stephens and Mary Elizabeth, who instilled in him the values of kindness and compassion that he carried throughout his life. His memory will forever remain etched in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him, as they reflect on his free spirit and the joy he brought to the lives he touched.
