Matthew Thomas Unkle

Matthew Thomas Unkle, known to his loved ones as Matt, passed away on November 1, 2023, in Jacksonville, Florida, at the age of
36. Matt was born on January 3, 1987, in Abington, Pennsylvania, to Jacqueline Holly Hunter and Beniamin Unkle.
Matt is survived by his mother, Jacqueline Holly Hunter, his father, Benjamin Unkle, his siblings, Amanda Figueroa (Kevin), Jennifer Unkle, and Rodney Alex Hunter, as well as his aunt, Debra Grabowski, and uncle, John O'Shanick. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, including Landon, Daniel, Michael, Cady, and Amy.
Matt was preceded in death by his grandfather, Nelson Oswald, his grandmother, Laura Oswald, his step-father, Rodney Hunter, and his brother, Benjamin Thomas Unkle IV.
Matt was a funny and lighthearted individual who loved to laugh. He had a great sense of humor that brought joy to those around him. Matt was also a devoted dog dad and cherished the companionship of his furry friends, Bella and Dixie.
In his free time, Matt enjoyed working on cars. Additionally, Matt was an avid football fan and eagerly followed the sport, cheering on his favorite team the Philadelphia Eagles.
A ceremony to honor Matt's life will be held at the Autobahn Indoor Speedway located at 6601 Executive Park Ct N, Jacksonville, FL 32216 on Sunday November 12, 2023 at 3 pm. Family and friends are invited to gather and share their memories of
Matt during this time of remembrance.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the First German Shepherd Rescue. This organization holds a special place in Matt's heart, and any support provided will help in their mission to rescue and care for German Shepherds in need.
