Carol Ann Unkle, 86, of Reading, Michigan, died, December 6, 2023, in Hillsdale, Michigan. She was born October 15, 1937, in Toledo, to Cledwyn and Ethel (Gulish) Phillips. Carol married Charles F. Unkle on June 15, 1956, and he survives.
Carol graduated from DeVilbiss High School in Toledo in 1955. Carol and her family co-owned and operated the Lone Star Resort in Reading.
In addition to her husband, Carol is survived by five children, Tamara Unkle of Reading, Guy (Lori) Unkle of Eaton Rapids, Troy Unkle of Reading, Todd Unkle of Reading, and Holly (Marty) McKitterick of Jonesville; five grandchildren, Keli (Nick) Holtman, Nadia (Mike) Lampton, Kami Unkle, Morgan Unkle, and Ashton Unkle; four great-grandchildren, Nikolai, Naiah, Kaydence, and Brynlee; and one sister, Sharon DuChene of Tallmadge, Ohio.
Mass of Christian Burial for Carol Unkle will be Monday, December 11, 2023, 11:00 AM, St. Anthony Catholic Church, Hillsdale. Interment will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, 2:00-5:00 PM, with a scripture service beginning at 4:30 PM at VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home, Hillsdale. Please visit www.eaglefuneralhomes.com for online condolences.
