Paul E. Bryan, 94, of Montgomery passed away Monday, January 26, 2026 at Hillsdale Hospital. He was born on November 28, 1931 in Montgomery to Rimer and Madalyn (Woodcox) Bryan. Paul married Donna Jean (Young) on December 9, 1951 and she preceded him in death in 2015.
Paul graduated from Montgomery High School in 1949 and went on to attend Michigan State University. In 1952, Paul joined the United States ARMY. He was a member of the Montgomery American Legion Post #156 from the day they opened in 1979, currently a member of the Reading American Legion Post #360. Paul was employed at Mitchell Lumber Company in Montgomery for over 50 years. Paul had also served on the Montgomery Fire Department and the Montgomery town Council along with being a member of the Reading Community School Board for several years. He enjoyed traveling around to all his grandchildren's sporting events.
Paul is survived by two daughters, Dawn (Bret) Hutchins, Debra (Roger) Price; three sons, Stanley Bryan, Steven Bryan, Scott (Yvonne) Bryan; 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Donna, Paul was preceded in death by one son, David Bryan; one brother, Delbert (Patricia) Bryan and one son-in-law, Kap Westfall.
Funeral services for Paul E. Bryan will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Reading with Pastor Don Lee officiating. Interment will follow in Berg Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Reading American Legion, post #360.
