Rebecca Barrett Obituary
Rebecca Barrett, 85, passed away on January 30, 2026, at Genoa Care Center. She was born to Earl and Louise (Dauer) on December 17, 1940, in Toledo, Ohio. Rebecca would go on to graduate from Macomber-Whitney High School as a member of the Class of 1958.
Rebecca served as an accountant for Prestolite Electric until her retirement. In addition to her time at Prestolite, Rebecca also was employed at both the Lion Store and Heesen Haskell Jewelry Company in her working years. She found great joy in contributing to charitable organizations, particularly those serving the needs of children, veterans, and first responders. Rebecca also found joy in gardening and spending time with her family, who she valued very much. She was known as a kind individual who kept to herself. She was a vocal and proud member of the North Toledo community, being active in her neighborhood well into her eighties. Rebecca's presence is one that is already greatly missed by those that knew her.
Rebecca is survived by her brother, Alan (Jean) Barrett; sisters-in-law, Connie and Cindy Barrett; nieces, Tammy (Fred) Cerrone, Tara (Chris) Urbanyi, Trisha (Shawn) Woods, Kristy Barrett, and Brenna Reeves; nephews, Dean (Shannon) Barrett, Jeff (Brandi) Barrett, Matt Barrett, and Brad Barrett. Also surviving are numerous cousins and great-nieces and nephews. Preceding Rebecca in death were her parents; brothers, Ben and Michael; and great-nephew, Corey.
A visitation will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd., in Oregon, Ohio, on Monday, February 9, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with a funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Forest Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Rebecca's name can be given to the Alzheimer's Association.
