It is with the heaviest heart and deepest sympathy to announce the passing of our loved one, Matthew C. Vinci age 69. Matthew went to be with his savior on February 11, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Vinci and Barbara Jane Gentzsch (Ferris). He is survived by his daughter Jennifer Vinci, his grandchildren Kayla & Christian, his siblings Michael (Denise) Vinci, James (Virginia) Vinci, Paul Vinci, Michelle (Rich) Geraci and his many nieces and nephews. Matthew graduated from Lakeland High School, class of 1971 and worked for many years at Con Edison and Berger Appliances. Matthew's mission in life was helping those who suffered from alcohol addiction and through this, he touched the lives & hearts of many. We welcome donations in his name to St. Christophers Inn, Graymoor. Matthew was the biggest fan of the New York Yankees, but what he enjoyed most was his family and friends, telling jokes and making others laugh. A mass and celebration of life to remember Matthew will be held this upcoming June, details to be announced.

Happy 70th Birthday my Matteo in heaven! When you called me last I had no idea that would be the last call from you in our lifetime. I am so sorry you passed through God's door "49" days after your call to me. I am still in shock. Your legacy will forever be in my heart. When I met you at 30 and you were 34, I felt so lucky to have met you. You were so humble, spiritual and kind. Outgoing and friendly and helpful to everyone you knew. You were funny too making people laugh spontaneously. A gift. You inspired me to be a great Italian cook even though I am not Italian. You inspired me to cook you dad's Thanksgiving stuffing and spiedini! We danced, we shopped and traveled together. We loved to swim like fish and we adored the ocean. We adored jet skis sharing one together! You loved my maltese Crystal and later Lulu. You inspired me to cook great Italian food and you taught me to make your dad's Thanksgiving stuffing and spiedini. We will never forget when you helped me get a Christmas tree and you rolled down the hill from falling over! We laughed over that. We rode horses and went boating. You didn't like riding because you bumped your knee cap into the tree! We bought each other gifts but you lost yours in the ocean. It was great visiting you in Florida 2x. I will miss you but then again you never left my heart. I am sending my sincere warmest condolences to the Vinci family. Matt is not alone as he is with our Lord God and Jesus. His huge family was right there waiting for him. His mom and dad, 2 nephews, grandparents and his aunts and uncles. You will never be alone my friend. I will always love you eternally. Visit me when it's my turn Matteo!
